"Café Roma is right on Route 18 but very far north and not near another place of interest, but well worth finding. I have been here on numerous occasions with friends and gathered two one who has been before, one who had never) together for a Friday night leisurely girl's dinner. Café Roma is tight, with a bar with TVs and attached smallish dining room, which gives a cozy feel. They have a great wine collection, so we started with our individual favorites, delicious Beringer Zinfandel for me, reds for my companions. The menu is extensive with something for every palate from obviously great Italian items, like pasta, pizza, etc. to Ample seafood portions and steaks. We started with an appetizer that sounded interesting; Irish Nachos, which could be a vegetarian meal. A bed of thick slices of potato form the base for the cheese salsa, peppers, sour cream etc. that you'd find on regular nachos sans meat). It was hearty and filling, and there was extra to bring home which was still enough for my son and his friend to munch) I decided to have the Fish and Chips with cup of chowder for a great $9.00, since the friend that has been here before raved of the seafood. I was not disappointed. The cup of chowder was thick, rich with tender clams and soft potatoes type with straight-forward deliciousness. The fish was white, flaky and tender with a dark thin batter and plenty of typical french fries and yummy cole-slaw. The friend who had been here before went off normal seafood/pasta for the Prime Rib and definitely was happy with her choice. The cut was thick and ample and cooked to perfection sitting in fantastic Au jus. For sides she chose linguine with sauce and a dinner salad that had everything a great salad should have on a fairly large plate. She was still raving about this awesome steak the next day! Our friend new to the Café chose to have the Eggplant Parmigian which she ordered with spaghetti but got linguine. The friendly server offered to have it changed for her which she declined, but her portions were served on a huge oval plate looking like a platter you'd put in the middle of a family dinner table! She declared this the best Eggplant Parmigian that she had ever had, which is high praise since it is an item she orders frequently. She also enjoyed the crispy dinner salad and had a heavy doggy bag to take home as well. I was sad that we were all too full to try a dessert, but will on a future visit. All in all it was a fantastic meal, with portions beyond belief-for which I am always grateful. The toughest thing you will face dining at Café Roma is narrowing down from the large menu and daily specials, so my advice is to plan a return trip, after the first, to sample all the delicious food they have to offer."
