Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant presents a charming atmosphere but struggles with consistency in food and service. While some diners enjoyed hearty Sunday roasts and praised friendly staff, others experienced painfully slow service and unsatisfactory dishes, such as lackluster fish and tough meats. Many lamented the absence of proper management response during complaints, with several expressing disappointment given the establishment's previous reputation. Despite these setbacks, some guests appreciated the decor and laid-back vibe, making it a decent spot for social gatherings over drinks. Ultimately, this venue seems to have potential, yet it requires improvement to live up to expectations.
We have taken care of when we have great waitress and food service
The large room with all the decoration was perfect for a meal where they wished and heard titration. the high deck added to the sense of space. we regularly go to a meal with these friends and we were all positiw about the restaurant.
The nut roast was a bit dry and the sweet had been cooked clear for all roasted and simply sitting in the kitchen waiting to be used. this is said to be the casual atmosphere and the beautiful facility for a good place to catch up with friends. the personal was friendly and professional, we would recommend it to others, but perhaps only for drinks.
Overall good value. Service excellent. Restaurant area spacious, airy, and comfortable. My lunchtime starter prawn cocktail was not appetising. The lettuce garnish was limp, the solitary top prawn in its shell was so old/soft that I could not eat it. The size of the skinned prawns was more like shrimps. Not impressed at all. But, our main courses were excellent.. We had the chicken/ham hock pie and the fish pie. Both steaming hot and very tasty. Recommended. We would definitely return, and would recommend it as well worth a try.
Really great service with a smile. We were well looked after. Would visit the House Martin again.
