the host could make a table for 3 on the balcony. he went beyond and beyond! they enjoy listening to the street, watching the people and enjoy a delicious meal. they experience the expectations! we made a few months ago reservations and glad that we did as the waiting times were very long for the without. loved our experience and will be back. If you love raw oysters, Royal House Oyster Bar is a must visit when in New Orleans. The service is always great, and the location in the heart of the French Quarter is unbeatable. The fried alligator is so yummy. Local musicians ofter play outside and you might even see one of NOLA's famous second lines go past. Jojo at the bar serves the best drinks; we had a blast getting to know her and will be back to visit her soon.
We had a group of 12. The waiter was pleasant at first but could tell she was slightly overwhelmed as time passed .The shrimp and grits were a 0/10 the shrimp were cold. The grits were super grainy. Extremely salty and no flavor. The chargrilled and raw oysters were cooked to perfection. The ravioli was flavorful but the portion size was smaller than expected. Was not a fan of the Oysters Rockefeller. Was not like your normal preparation. The actual oyster was lost in the breading. The Chicken Sandwich is a safe option that is tasty and filling. The bathroom upstairs was small and not fully stocked.
We had the best experience at Royal House. The food was wonderful and our waiter Kevin gave exceptional service! We will be back!!
It was our last night in New Orleans and needed to try the chargrilled oysters and couldn’t have picked a better place. They shuck the oysters right in front of you so you know they are definitely fresh. The grilled oysters are topped with a Parmesan butter and were just amazing, so much so that we had to order more. We also tried the Oyster Rockefeller Bombolone which is a must and one of the best things I had tried in New Orleans. Looking for oysters in the French Quarter, this is the place to go.
We had breakfast at Royal House Restaurant. Unfortunately for us it was a bit too warm outside to enjoy the balcony. Our food was good and the portions they serve are huge. We found the service was just a bit flat but certainly adequate. Overall this was an enjoyable just not memorable experience.Vegetarian options: A few seafood items on menuKid-friendliness: Totally kid friendlyParking: Limited on street parking and some paid lots in the areaWheelchair accessibility: Partial accessible, upstairs not accessibleDietary restrictions: Make staff aware of any restrictions and choose carefully
