I'm in Minnesota for the week, staying at the Balcony Guest House above the Silk Road Restaurant. They serve delicious Mexican dishes on Sundays and Mondays, and I've dined there both nights because the food is simply outstanding! The pastor meat is incredibly juicy and flavorful—definitely the best I've ever had. On the first night, I tried the tostadas, and they disappeared so quickly that I forgot to take a photo.... What Erin Hardison doesn't like about Silk Road Restaurant Wine Bar:
The staff at the restaurant is friendly and attentive. We initially enjoyed the smoked burger and salmon, which prompted us to come back and explore more of the menu. I can not sing this places praises enough. GET THE TIKA MASSALA. So good. As a professional chef I can be a little particular about some of my favorite foods. The chef here is phenomenal. Plus a stellar curated wine selection, friendly staff, live music, and lovely neighborhood. Did I mention the TIKA MASSALA?!? Seriously salivating right now. So good
Attentive service by the owner Ganesh and staff. Food quality was good overall. Good place for Indian food in NOLA.

Food Ok mix of Indian dishes and burger etc available. Also had some drinks. A little overpriced maybe..
Hidden GemI hesitate to write this because I want to keep this place for myself. It’s off the beaten path but if you are willing to venture a few blocks out of the French Quarter you will be rewarded with great food quality at a substantial discount to the better know tourist traps. The bonus is that you can choose your wine from the racks on the wall. You will end up paying 40% of the price for the same wine as you would in the FQ. What a deal. Finally the waitstaff is friendly, knowledgeable and down to earth. It’s up to you to take a chance.Parking: On the street
