My only explanation for poor reviews is some people must be expecting either fine dining or The Olive Garden. Despite the plethora of Italian restaurants in the neighborhood, locals flock here. The regular menu is comforting and delicious. The specials, differing nightly, are divine. The cozy ambiance makes you want to stay with a pillow and blanket. None of the dishes we ordered are considered nyc good. It’s a family owned restaurant and they probably been in the neighborhood for a long time so I understand they have some pride, and you can see that from the waitress/manager lady’s way of talking.
