This is a nice casual restaurant to hang out with friends. They don’t take reservations but you can check the waitlist on Google. This is not Shanghai cuisine as listed. Yes there is Shanghai food on the menu but over half the dishes on the menu does not originate from Shanghai. Nevertheless it was good food. Fun of flavor and not greasy. What Mary E doesn't like about The Bao:
This place is disgusting! Very poor management and unprofessional.. Please avoid eating here or ordering from them. They literally put your food on the restaurant Floor!! Mind you there's also water bugs right outside their restaurant and they easily crawl inside the restaurant. They refuse to refund me for the way they handles my order very unsanitary.. I decided to visit this restaurant Saturday evening and it was a packed house, lol. I guess that’s one of the indicators to know this place is quite popular. I enjoyed coming and trying some of their dishes. I enjoyed the vegetable dumplings, har grow (shrimp dumplings), mapo tofu, and eggplant with garlic sauce. I also ordered back choy to go which was good. All the dishes I ordered were tasty and fresh, but my favorite was the eggplant with garlic sauce. I was a little disappointed to know that most of the xian long bao except for the chocolate ones are made with pork. If it was not with pork I would have definitely tried a few orders of it. Overall, great customer service and food.
