"Nice pub. Very pleasant hostess. All fine until I asked for plate to share starter a waiter gave me a saucer to eat off. The starter itself was perfect. Mains special, herb crusted salmon had no crust at all just a tomato sauce which took the taste if there was any out of the salmon. Probably the problem haunting every resturaunt of no or poorly trained chefs. My fish was tasteless not flakey fresh cod very oily batter, no dressing on the salad. Mushy peas were more runny peas. I leave this not as a critism but a wake up call. A few well cooked specials on menu are needed, yere town has 2 world class butchers that should be utilised and there should be fresh shell fish and sea caught fresh fish. We're fed up of burgers and beer battered fish. Give us a reason to want to eat out. This is a wake up call for all food outlets."

"Climbed croagh patrick today with some friends, and met the family in the taverne for something to eat. I have the open plate crawler dish that was amazing and washed them down with a pint guinness. the service was also great, our waiter, whom I think his name is colm was brilliant and made our visit really special, he was really attentive and pleasant and is definitiw a loan to the tavern"
