Contribute Feedback What Sigrid Rudolph doesn't like about Gutsschanke Horn:
To advance it: Food and service are great. When we visit and then eat in the slender room, it was so loud that we hardly understood our own word at the table. It was extremely annoying, and we had the mood. After two hours, my wife and I would like to dispense with the subsequent headaches. We would have liked to have spent this evening in a pleasant atmosphere. View all feedback.
Went end of April on a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was full. There was no asparagus left which was disappointing however the salad was very good fresh & tasty. Main courses mostly traditional German style meat & vegetable very generous portions. Service was ok and the views are beautiful.Playground outside for children.Good for a family visit.
The evening here with my wife and parents-in-law got off to a bad start: no Guten Abend from the host when we gave him our name, no help choosing a suitable table and when the waitress arrived to take our order, she was so blunt and impatient that it bordered on rudeness - and yes, all of this was in German. The local Klosterberg Grauburgunder (pinot gris / pinot grigio) was light and refreshing and great value-for-money. The menu offered mainly down-to-Earth regional dishes as well as a couple of surprises like char filets with pomegranite on celery and home-made (potato) gnocchi. The former was a bit heavy on the celery (a vegetable that the German chefs seem to avoid in favour of heartier celeriac - which they also call celery) but the fish was perfectly cooked. Likewise, the gnocchi was well-executed. A traditional dish of herrings with raw apples, raw onions and boiled potatoes was accompanied by a disappointing salad.A strangely perfumed panna cotta with a minimal caramel sauce and some withered 'fresh' apricots didn't save the day. Next time I'd probably lower my sights and stick with the more traditional dishes ... except that the unacceptable rudeness of the staff means that there won't be a next time.
Great food, great wine and great ambiance - what more do you want? Seriously, we went here with a group of friends and all had a terrific meal. Very nice place.
Gutschänke and Weinhof on the top level. The map is seasonal and quality is always best. You can blindly order everything tastes great and all nice to him.
Beautiful location and cozy guest garden. Nice, fast service and first-class food with large portions. Really top...
