"Came here on a surprise visit for our second anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed a tasting menu with wine pairing. Every course was an absolute feast for the senses and the owner himself described the meal in all its particulars. An absolute delight from start to finish. "Best fried chicken in the area... wings are the biggest I've ever seen. Best tasting. Good cold beer selection on Hahn. Great staff...Heated outdoor terrace seating. Freshly skinned pool table. "The food wasn’t bad. But the service totally lacked Japanese spirit. We were puzzled why they stacked upside down chairs on the counter. It felt like they are closed or closing down. The bento box and bibimbap tasted fine. But the miso soup was a joke. We’ve never seen miso soup so plain basically just hot water with a bit miso flavor. For decades all miso soups we’ve had elsewhere had tofu and green onions. Before we finished our meal, they served the bill to us already, and came back shortly to see if we have paid. Never seen such attitude of impatience at any restaurant."
