Customers rave about the delicious kheer and chai, as well as the tender and tasty Tandoori chicken. The service is top-notch, perfect for a quiet evening with a loved one. While some have had issues with to-go orders and Groupon application, most agree that the owners take pride in their food and offer a wide variety of delicious dishes both on the menu and at the buffet. With a few minor hiccups, Taste of India remains a favorite for those seeking delicious Indian cuisine in Norman.
I used to enjoy visiting this restaurant in the past. The service was good and the food spread on the table was amazing. The presentation was excellent. However, my rating has dropped due to poor service when picking up takeout orders. I noticed that they don't start preparing my order until I arrive. What is the point of ordering takeout then?
The best Indian food in Norman can be found at this restaurant. The buffet may not be the best, but that's typical of most buffets in my opinion. I just wish they were open all day instead of having limited hours and being strict about them. They won't take your order if you call close to closing time. Additionally, be aware that the spice level ranges from 1-10, so even if you ask for no spice, it may still be spicy. We prefer a spice level of 0-2 so our kids can eat it too, after my partner accidentally ordered something at an 8 once. I recommend trying the lamb biriyani and the Shahikorma!
I bought a dinner Groupon to taste of India. The food was very good and they actually make food really spicy upon request. My only complaint was that the Groupon was applied incorrectly and I didn't realize until after I was already back home. I had a $10 for $20 of dinner food Groupon. They only took $10 off my ticket for the Groupon. I didn't lose anything but it felt dishonest. The waitress got the owner out to help with the Groupon so I am not certain that it was just a mistake...
The buffet has a wide variety and is always very delicious. The menu also has a wide selection and I have never had anything I didn't like when ordering from it. The owners are very nice people and put a lot of pride into their food.
Oh how I love to rave about this place. Took a while for me to find my stride with respect to Indian cuisine, but I cannot say enough about Taste of India's Saag Paneer (especially paired with Garlic Naan). Plus, the staff are beyond friendly. Best Indian restaurant in the metro, hands down. Edit: ORDER OFF THE MENU. I have similar qualms about their buffet that the other reviewers have.
