Arrived, seated ourselves. 2 minutes and we were asked if we would like some drinks. All very quick. Ordered a regular burger and fries, Canadian burger and fries, and chicken tenders. Everything was made on site, no Sysco, or Gordon Food Service items here. (Perhaps the burger buns, but that's all) I asked the server and she confirmed, hand cut fries from unpeeled potatoes, burgers made in house and cooked over flam... View all feedback.
What ToddandDenise doesn't like about Fifty's Diner:
We were looking to return to go to Hoagie's Diner and could not remember the name. We knew it was a 50's style diner so we thought this was the right place. Well it was a costly mixup. Never have we been to a restaurant that could serve such an awful breakfast. Potatoes were not cooked the eggs were greasier than the bacon. The toast was good. The coffee was terrible and super strong. The breakfast poutine was not ev... View all feedback.
Stopped by for an excellent breakfast on our way out of town on a holiday Monday morning. Was busy, but they were very good about turning around tables quickly. Very accommodating, good food, good price.

Everything was made on site, no Sysco, or Gordon Food Service items here. (Perhaps the burger buns, but that's all) I asked the server and she confirmed, hand cut fries from unpeeled potatoes, burgers made in house and cooked over flames, not on a flat top. And the chicken tenders were hand portioned chicken breast pieces cooked in their own coating. Great price for the service and quality, will go back again if we go to NB again.
We arrived about 430 and was impressed with the restaurant outlay and the awareness for covid 19 dining. the waitress was very pleasant and efficient as well as Mitchell who greeted us both on entering and leaving. the food was very tasty and the portion size perfect. the schnitzel with the gravy and the lumberjack burger were both big hits. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. I am definitely happy I checked tripadvisor before planning our meal out otherwise I would not have found this place.
We threw caution to the wind and went to dinner at this little place. (Oct 16). First off, they have done everything possible to curb covid and make the dining experience stress free. The booths are partitioned with plastic..the condiments are in a basket (wiped down) and the staff, wow ! The staff were extremely diligent with mask wearing and their hand washing was continual and consistent. The food...ohhhhhhh my. Everything was delicious and the portions were very generous. While the physical restaurant itself may lack in the decor department, the food makes up for it. Don't ever let your chef leave !!! Our waiter....a young man who ran his butt off catering to the guests was over the top attentive. He was extremely pleasant and took very good care of the customers. Top notch. It was our first time since covid began that we went out for dinner. It was so nice to see that the diner is open and busy as ever. So if anyone has reservations about dining here and covid, don't. Distancing is a priority and they've made sure that no diner is close to the next. The food is excellent. Pat Diane North Bay
Stopped in here after striking out at two other restaurants downtown (one isn't open and the other no longer serves sit down meals). The wait staff are super friendly and accommodating the food was mediocre not horrible but nothing special. I had the Greek pizza which was slathered in feta cheese but only lightly sprinkled with basil (which should have been oregano) and a few very small chunks of chopped tomato and purple onion. The cook did achieve a crispy crust however so kudos for that. My husband had the meatball sandwich and he said the meatballs were tasty. The fries were dry and the gravy tasted like that stuff from a powder mix or a can. if you love diner food you might like this place; I don't think I'd go back.
