My first choice bar! Never had a bad night here... staff are really friendly and easy to get along with, DJs are awesome, have never come home from here after a night out feeling disappointed or wishing I had gone someplace else. They do plenty of events as well, so there's really a time for anyone to come and have a good night out : I always make tons of friends when I come out here, even on a slower night. read more.

The place also offers the possibility to sit outside and be served in pleasant weather, and there is no-charge WLAN.

What Jennifer Vesterback doesn't like about The Raven and Republic:
We used to really enjoy this place . The last time we were there (April 1/23) there was 3 bar tenders. Two obviously were friends with the customers (3-4 of them) at the bar.. at one point two of the female bar tenders took the customers thru the kitchen to the back for a smoke...We ordered a plate of nachos and they came out cold. Not even the cheese had been melted.At one point the two bar tenders were on the dance... read more.

"Since we returned to North Bay, we've been disappointed in the absence of a good source of fish and chips. We decided to give Ivan's a try, even though it's not a fish specialty spot.Tonight, Ivan's won the fish and chip prize. The fish was perfectly cooked and tender. The serving size was generous and the price was reasonable. The dish was better than a nearby fish restaurant and it offered better value.Service is a bit different at Ivan's. You line up to place your order and get an identifying number to place on your table. When your meal is ready, it's delivered to you. The system works well, but there's a odd element to it. Since no individual wait person is directly responsible for a particular zone in the restaurant, four different servers cruised by to ask how everything was. Yes, it's nice to have someone check to make sure that everything was all right, but when it comes in multiples, it begins to get tedious.Other than "Is it okay, okay, okay, okay" the experience was good and we will return."
