After having the best fish tacos in Ensenada last year, I was so happy to discover that someone brought these street style fried seafood tacos to Austin! They’re located in the Arbor food park. Great little gravel lot makes it easy to stop by for a quick lunch! Of the 2 tacos ordered, I thought the cod was the best and closest to what I remembered from Ensenada.. light batter, healthy portion of fish and juicy clean... View all feedback.
What Cosmita Foodie doesn't like about Ensenada Atx:
The fish tacos were good but a little bit pricey, 6 dollars each. The cóctel de camarón had more V8 or Clamato than authenticity . The secret salsa inexistent and 2 more dollars for 1/8 of an avocado View all feedback.
Wow!! I feel so lucky to have eaten here the tacos were incredible and Liz is so kind. We ordered the ceviche, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos, and they were incredible. Grew up eating in Baja California and this meal reminded me so much of my childhood. The seating area is also shady and nice. Must visit!!
I would have never known about this place other than my friend saying I have to try her homemade fish taco.... and her muse Ensenada. So fish tacos are my jam. It's just, where do you find them? So of course I had to try this place out immediately. She was right fish.tacos.on.point. The batter was crunchy, flavorful, not too thick. The fish was nice and meaty. Not fishy at all. The slaw was thinly shredded adding a nice cool crisp crunch contrast. The sauce just right and not overpowering. The tortilla was thin enough to not overpower but thick enough to play its job of holding strong. Alright Austin the standard for fried tacos has now been set.
Best Baja style fish tacos and shrimp cocktail and the folks are the nicest. UPDATE: always great (tried the Gobernador shrimp taco today) and the shrimp cocktail is always the best!
Finally tried this place after seeing it a couple times while visiting other trailers in the Arbor Food Park. It’s fantastic, and so great to have a seafood taco option in a city dominated by heavier, meat-focused tacos. We tried all three of their regular tacos and they were delicious. Great flavors across the board, with lightly-fried fish and shrimp (not very heavy at all) complemented by fresh vegetables and bright salsa with a nice, but not overwhelming amount of spice. The weekend special shrimp cocktail was also solid, and a bit different from what other places in Austin serve. Rather than having a dominant ketchup-like flavor, it’s more complex and almost a little sweet—it seems focused on fresh tomato rather than other tomato products. We’re so happy we tried Ensenada and can’t wait to go back!
Best shrimp and fish tacos I’ve ever had!! They tasted so fresh with their hot sauce and yummy toppings!!
