we were looking for an independent caffe for afternoon tea on our day trip to barnstaple. this caffe appeared on our Google search, and we were pleased to find it still open, quite late on Friday, when other places closed. the Skorn...was fresh, the jam delicious, and the servings of jam and saw were generous. the other cakes we had were just as delicious, and the milkshakes were very enjoyed by the teenagers! we had... What Wonderbouter doesn't like about The Cream Tea Cafe:
I learned about cream tea during my visit to England, and this is the first ever place I 've tried it. I 'm glad to be wirting the review now, after I 've come home, and having tried many, many other places for cream tea. Unfortunatly, the scones are a sorry representation by which to stake the name of their establishment upon. While they weren 't the worst scones I 've had, there are just a lot better places to get... View all feedback.

Woof! what a sound. not an extensive menu, but what they do, they do brilliant. friendly little caffe. the daily specialty was cheerful and tasty and the toastia, fresh made to order was a hit with my wife. we had not intended to have dessert, but the rich was too tempting, and the treacle darts and rhabarb crumbs were not disappointed. fabtastic!
The look out on fresh homemade cream tees was thrilled and the cream tea cafe not disappointed! with freshly baked brot, which was made on the ground for her sandwiches and the lightest scenes I've ever had, this wonderful caffe hidden on a side street...in barnstaple is worth a visit!
Close by the Panier market we stumbled across this by chance and what good luck it was. There were 6 of us and the owners were very accommodating setting up a table for us, with a warm welcome. Menu choices were very good and the...daily specials were exciting. The food served was simply delicious and they bake their own bread, best lunch we've had in a long time. Can't recommend this cafe enough.
