"A friend treated me to a dinner at Karoo! As an ex-pat she knew I could teach her about South African flavors! It was a fabulous experience, eating my way through my childhood memories and flavors! Oh and do buy a bottle of Peri Peri sauce before you leave! One could become addicted!"

"An old favorite. Everything changes, but I have been coming since I was little. For our last visit last night, I was comforted by the things that have stayed the same a waiter that's been there forever, the art, and some of the menu items. My husband has Celiac disease, so I was pleased that they had a GF menu. Like so many places, it's been hard to get everything done with staffing challenges, so it turned out that many of the items on the GF menu were not available it hadn't been updated. My tried and true favorite on there, the Brazilian black beans and rice, was not an option. The waitress told me that the jewel in the crown was better anyway. I beg to differ. The house salad doesn't come with shredded carrots or sunflower seeds anymore. Things change. My husband had the GF clam chowder and the cod amandine. We split the crème brûlée for dessert. It was comforting that so much was the same. On the other hand, I feel like either the specialness of the place has worn off, or the quality of the food isn't what it used to be. For a restaurant to still be going, is it more than 40 years now, I'm glad that the place is still around and still so familiar."

"My husband and I ate here for dinner last and it was absolutely perfect! We didn’t have a reservation and the restaurant was very busy, but the manager fit us in. The service was great! Our server and the manager were both so sweet. And the food was amazing! I had the cauliflower steak and the chimichurri was the best I’ve ever had! I also highly recommend the ginger martini. The only negative thing to note was the table next to us. Three extremely rude gentleman. I’m really not sure what they were unhappy about as they could not articulate it. But they were so rude to the manager! She handled it with grace and continued delivering excellent service throughout the restaurant. If you’re looking for a nice place to eat in Ptown with great ambiance, this is your place!!"

"We always come to Ceraldis because it is the best restaurant on the Cape. Michael and the attention of his team to detail and procurement of high-quality ingredients make every meal amazing! The menu changes daily, based on what is available, but it is always good. You also have a reserve wine pairing if you want to make the meal a real treat."
