What Glen Hahn doesn't like about Gochiso Japanese Restaurant:
I came with a group of friends for a get together. Despite being warned it wasn't great Japanese, I came anyway. It's pretty safe. Nothing special. Nothing terrible. I've definitely eaten at better Japanese restaurants.Service was pretty ordinary. The wait staff didn't really check in on us. I had to ask if each dish was gluten free as it came out. That was annoying. In general, the staff didn't anticipate and serve... View all feedback. What mjc likes about Gochiso Japanese Restaurant:
Loved it. Gochiso lives up to its name, its delicious. I dined here recently with children in tow. The staff could not have been more welcoming. Love the fit out, concrete walls and wall art. The teriyaki salmon set is as nice as any I've eaten in Toyko. A great addition to Willoughby. View all feedback.

read moreThis Japanese restaurant in the Chatswood/Willoughby area offers a variety of delicious dishes beyond just udon and ramen. The restaurant has a cozy seating area that can fill up quickly, so booking in advance is recommended. The menu includes unique dishes such as octopus balls and sashimi carpaccio, as well as more traditional options like tofu teriyaki and eel. The staff is friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. Prices are reasonable considering the quality of food and service. While some reviewers found the food to be standard Japanese fare, others praised the fresh and well-prepared dishes. Overall, this hidden gem is worth a visit for those looking for a tasty Japanese meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
Been going to Gochiso for almost 9 years now, since it was opened. Still my favourite restaurant.
