"Really enjoyed our visit to this lovely friendly village cafe, obviously a favourite with the locals, it won my best of the week in Northumberland prize. Great service tasty food the sausage with mango chutney pannini was really yummy as was the caramel apple crumble and cream. Simple good home made food you want to eat ! Prices are reasonable too."

"On holiday in the area and was keeping an eye out for pubs we passed, to visit later. I always check on Trip Advisor first. I picked another pub initially which had lovely sea views. However, as there were a lot of reviews about rude staff, over priced food and meagre portions, I chose the Horseshoe Inn instead. What a great meal we had! My husband had the gammon and said it was the best one he’d ever tasted. I had the ham salad, this was gorgeous as well. The chips were home made, soft and fluffy inside, again gorgeous. We were stuffed but were determined to have a dessert. Again, my husband was in his element about the raspberry roulade. I had the baileys cheesecake, it was a good portion, the only minor criticism was, that I had trouble cutting the base, but other than that great. Why pay for pretentious surroundings with poor customer service, high prices and poor food, when you can come to somewhere like the Horseshoe Inn and get fantastic food, friendly attentive service and good portions in an old style pub."

"Thank you Melanie Phillips for your review of this establishment. My family are booking purely on the back of this review. It's about time restaurants took a stand on allowing dogs in. It is unhygienic and some people even lift them up to the table gross habit. There should only be officially registered guide dogs allowed in restaurants. I understand during the day some cafes bending the rules but surely dogs can be left a short time while you eat a lovely meal without dog hair. Well done spice house you've got our business Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
