"On holiday in the area and was keeping an eye out for pubs we passed, to visit later. I always check on Trip Advisor first. I picked another pub initially which had lovely sea views. However, as there were a lot of reviews about rude staff, over priced food and meagre portions, I chose the Horseshoe Inn instead. What a great meal we had! My husband had the gammon and said it was the best one he’d ever tasted. I had the ham salad, this was gorgeous as well. The chips were home made, soft and fluffy inside, again gorgeous. We were stuffed but were determined to have a dessert. Again, my husband was in his element about the raspberry roulade. I had the baileys cheesecake, it was a good portion, the only minor criticism was, that I had trouble cutting the base, but other than that great. Why pay for pretentious surroundings with poor customer service, high prices and poor food, when you can come to somewhere like the Horseshoe Inn and get fantastic food, friendly attentive service and good portions in an old style pub."

"Very comfortable and clean room with view of the church, delicious sausage and maic with black pudding gravy and baby wobble huge portion! breakfast well beyond the speck overcooked, but the staff is nice, very friendly and helpful"

"A perfect place for a meal at any time of the day. We tend to go for a late breakfast or early lunch. The food is all homemade and freshly cooked to order, there is also a chill cabinet with a good selection of sausage rolls, Frittata, and quiche, together with bowls of amazing salads to choose from. My husband does the protein plus 3. I love the smashed avocado with poached eggs and salmon, with a flat grilled mushroom as a extra. An amazing place of you have food intolerances, they take to make sure everything is ok for you."

"What an amazing little bistro. We had one of the best meals ever at Jasper’s. I started with Chilli Crab Soup and my wife had Prawns. For mains, I had the Fillet Steak and my wife had Curried Seabass. The food was beautifully prepared and...presented and delicious. As an added bonus, we were able to bring our well behaved dog to the bistro and he was given home made biscuits. If you are in Amble you should book a table at Jaspers."
