Just a quick post, walked along the canal to the navigation on Sunday with our little dog, I preferred our drinks and a bottle of water for her, landlord wouldn’t hear of me spending £1.40 on water for the dog, and promptly got a bowl and tap water for her.... that impressed me...he could have easily just sold me the bottle of water!! Called in off canal. My other half had Turkey, I had beef. Turkey was succulent, beef was rather well done for me but you can't cook for everyone. Loads of hot perfectly cooked vegetables. With regard to service, everyone did their best. Chef came out to enquire about the quality of the meal the young girls on duty were certainly attentive. View all feedback.
Visited on canal boat and unfortunately not serving food. Really friendly and pragmatic staff helped us out with takeaway options. Would recommend 100% for beer and hospitality (Navigation Ale recommended).
Stopped off whilst walking the Canel, no food service but really understand the obstacles involed with implementing save service very well thought out one way system and the service was great. Sat in the little beer garden at the back overlooking the Canel peaceful would highly recommend for a stop off for a pint. The Guinness was too knoch as well
We have just moored up next to the Navigation inn hoping for a pub meal. When we got there, there was a sign saying no food available. As a couple of hungry boaters, we were quite disappointed. I ignored the sign asked if there was any food. They said as they had just re opened, there wasn’t any. They asked if we were boaters. When we said we were, they offered us several local takeaway menus ordered the food to be delivered there for us. What hospitality. Next time we’re passing this way we will definitely call in again. Huge shout out to Navigation inn staff.
Every time we stay in Leicester we like to come to the Navigation Inn. It is an old pub next to a water canal. If its warm enough you can sit directly near the water. They serve traditional food of really great quality. The chips are outstanding! They offer a small range of ales and beers. We really love the Old Speckled Hen! The staff is really nice and friendly! We hope we will be able to come back soon!
A great pub next to the canal, warm friendly staff and great food Well worth a visit, I'm sure a summer visit would be a great time to enjoy the canal too
