What User likes about George Kaye's:
We felt so welcome here at our first night in Oakland, had a great experience in this bar. The bartender and the local crowd that night were so friendly. They gave us great suggestions on things to do in the city for Halloween Meltdown. Never thought to take the ferry while we were here otherwise and it ended up a favorite experience on our trip. Great dive bar. It was cool to hear about the punk history of the place... View all feedback.

What User doesn't like about George Kaye's:
I couldn't be a bigger fan of diving bars, and as a long-term neighborhood I was living, I thought to make this my local hangout. But really: $10 for a good gin tonic? No, thanks. Not if the same $10 could bring me a Mai Tai at Kona Club or a Saturno while Bar Cesar's Happy Hour. I hate to say, but it looks like this place isn't a real diver anymore. It is a place that wants to overload people in search of diving bar... View all feedback.

If you picture a dive bar in your mind, you probably have something similar to what you'll find at George Kaye's. A little shabby, a few regulars at the...
