"The hotel restaurant is clearly popular with other than hotel guests so be sure to book a table in peak season and for a good meal with a couple of glasses of wine expect to pay circa Euros a head. The three course tariff...at euros is good value as there is basically a choice of anything off the menu with a few extra costs for the more expensive dishes. Steaks are thick, large and extremely tender and tasty. My wife loved the calves liver whilst the Black Forest Parfait with kirsch soaked morello cherries made me very happy. Service was good, some nice little touches but why they did not first offer us a drink when we sat at the table before ordering food was a mystery to me. On the third occasion we dined there they actually did so! ]As it was warm the staff were keen to offer seating in the pleasant garden so make sure you wear insect repellent if you accept the offer as I did not and paid the price! Finally if staying for longer than a few days then the menu might feel a little repetitive, nice little touches such as amuse bouche' and main course covers being lifted simultaneously so it is clear the owner is keen to lift the standard and it is against the standard of a top quality restaurant I rate the establishment."

"Very cozy small hotel. Very little choice for vegetarians, but available choices are tasty. One risotto, one rosti, ..that's all. But good quality food nevertheless. The best feature was the warm friendliness of the hotel owner who's family is the serving staff. Such friendly and...helpful people, attract you to the place again and again. Breakfast was the best with a fantastic array of breads and cheeses."

"This was a pleasant surprise to find such good Italian food while visiting Germany. my litmus test for Italian farewell is always lasagna bolognese; and it was excellent. freshly made and pierced hot, excellent taste and content to the lasagne, and a generous portion size. my wife had her special, fresh muscles. they enjoyed them, but would have a bit more character to the sauce where they were served (the soße was a simple white weeping.) the pizza there is also very good as another member of our party that ordered. overall it was a very pleasant culinary experience and eating was certainly worth a return visit."

"A great evening at Ponyhof! A beautifully decorated courtyard offers something new to discover. Food and beverages are very lovingly prepared, almost a composition of petals, wild herbs and fish/meat. In the water the guest can also choose between room temperature and cold, the greeting from the kitchen to begin, simply harmonious. We like to come back, there is still much to discover."
