"A true revelation! So I would have to say that I was already in some self-announced restaurants. But this discovery today, with faith and all respect, at the end of the world, has not yet come to me. After the presentation of the raw meat, all drops were already in the mouth, but that was nothing to the result freshly served by the beech wood grill on the wooden board. Both the turkey steak and the pork fillets were grilled to the point, juicy and delicate, with the special tasteful compositions made of supplements and sauces. Bread potatoes neither dry nor floating in fat. I expected a bourgeois cuisine today, but got a taste experience of the special kind. This was absolutely not to be expected in this hidden place. Therefore another great “Chapeau” to the cook! 5 stars are not almost enough thanks."

"We had chosen the restaurant "to the old post" because of the very good reviews and to take it forward: even we (4 people) were absolutely enthusiastic. the chefin was super attentive, fast and very warm. the food was freshly prepared, was absolutely delicious and plentiful; even our hungry men have become tired after the long walk and that wants to be something! we were very satisfied and can recommend the old post unrestricted. even at the cost there was nothing to mecker – ratio price / performance is absolutely right! in the januar we will be back in oberhof and look forward to eating delicious and cozy ambiente. probably we will eat the menu up and down :-). I don't think there's a better recommendation..."

"Kulinarisch a real highlight. all freshly prepared, homemade jam to breakfast, a pastry mill for breakfast, really great. the restaurant is a highlight: the young chef uses fresh ingredients - if possible from the region - and interprets the thursian cuisine new and peppery. has a bit of star kitchen. the service is also excellent, all always friendly and helpful. what you want more.The rooms are clean and large, however from the bathroom apart somewhat old-fashioned furnishings. but that doesn't bother at all, given all the other great things."
