"After our hike to the Hochgrat with a short drive to Stippvisite in Staufner's house, which was forced through the weather, we wanted to make the day kulinarisch in the first inn at the "Zum Hirschen" place in Scheidegg. But the advanced time stopped us spontaneously in Oberstaufen. A short look at the reviews of TA and the listed guest house in the centre of the city with the somewhat anachronistic name “Altstaufner Einkehr” was quickly chosen as a destination. In addition to offering food and beverages, the shop window proudly announced that the FEINSCHMECKER had made it the 500 best “restaurants for every day”. The stairs of the althonorite estate, decorated with shiny facade, was quick to climb and we were now standing in the hallway between kitchen, vault and the right influential cosiness of an ultra-pronounced guest room. Too bad no one had time and pleasure from the service staff to take note of us. A short look into the restaurant interior was enough to quickly find out that we had no room tonight! Two ladies who came with us at the same time did. You'd rather wait inside while we moved out. Although we were able to take care of a plan B, we noticed that a table was released in the tree garden next to the building. So now the return in the “return”! I learned about the Meckatzer error from the day before. A big killer “Korbinian Dark” 3.70 euros half a liter from the Rettenberger family brewery, which brewed the malty-intensive barley juice for about 500 years, and a mineral water 0.5l for 2.80 euros gave the thirst no chance. The view into the handwritten, well prepared menu already revealed the gastronomic philosophy of the house on the first page. Rind from free posture, Bachforelle from local waters and Allgäu cheese from the surrounding area were exemplary for the implementation of a modern kitchen with modern quality standards. A handful of daily dishes, including prezioses such as ragout from Staufner Reh with asparagus-pilz vegetables 19,50 Euro or Zanderfilet in the Pankokruste on spring salad with marinated asparagus and Balsamico 16,90 Euro, created seasonal facts. Self-made gondolas with grilled vegetables, Sbrinz Swiss hard cheese and tomato rout 14.90 Euro were offered to the Veggies. Allgäuer Bachforellenfilets baked in parchment with leaf spinach, shrub tomatoes Bio-Feta and salt potatoes 17.50 Euro were ready for the fine fish palate. In addition, five meat dishes were offered by the grill. Among them also the 180g heavy onion from the regional pasture bark €19,50, which I could not escape. The supplements were selected separately. For 3,80 Euro Extra, sensational laths with taste-intensive, long-cooked bratsauce were delivered. Every bite of the perfectly medium-sized roasted piece of the roast beef broke on the tongue. A meat quality I haven't had between knives and fork for a long time. I would have cleaned 100g more of it without question. The lush circulation of fried onions had to be mastered once. A completely successful example of handmade, perfectly cooked regional cuisine. I would have my main address as a convoy here only because of the onion and the a-part-rich sauce. It is only a pity that the lighting conditions no longer allowed meaningful photos of the food. Words must be enough for beef Royal under the onion freezing this time! My accompaniment went to the cold kitchen tonight. Her colonel cheese bread season 12.50 Euro had to offer mountain cheese, “Manschter” Obazda similar, Romadur and goat cheese from the region with radishes and onions. There was nothing in the way of a vinegar, especially as the cheese plate was cut well. The creamy cheese pulp, which made a very excellent figure for the fresh gray bread, was particularly delicious. Both dishes were completely removed from the crowd. Unfortunately, a dessert no longer needed him. Too bad, because the Lavender-Crème-Brulée with older flower ice cream and fresh strawberries had already awakened my interest. Finally a word for service. The young man who was responsible for the whole beer garden this evening made his thing really good. The great urge didn't seem to impress him. He was always on Zack and also came over very sympathetic. He answered our questions about certain dishes or products. We were so glad that we were not in place under the “Servicejoch” of the stressed ladies. Sometimes the second choice is the first. In the meantime, Hell went off at 11 a.m., from which I could make a picture of the very well maintained toilets. No question, the “Return” is a recommended address for guests who like to spend a few euros more for quality. That's definitely worth it!"

"We visited this place for dinner with our friends and it is one of the best places I have visited. than food the experience was great. Sitting in Austria having dinner and looking at Germany and Switzerland at a distance with lake of Konstanz...below is one of the best experiences. Food is mainly German/Austrian cuisine. We tried the Käsespätzle and Wiener Schnitzel. It was not great but not bad either. I would recommend this place for at least for the experience it offers."

"I've been eating in this restaurant for around years. Chefs and management have changed but the food remains class. The restaurant is very busy lunchtime and early evening, so if your going best to book. The menu is in German but the staff...will help if your struggling. On the subject of staff they worked very hard in this busy establishment but always took time to make sure we were looked after. During quieter times they were happy to talk to us. Lovely people indeed"

"We found this place by chance once in search of a trip near Lindau. We loved the decoration and the relaxing atmosphere of the hostel. It seems as coming locals with children during the day and enjoy the beautiful garden of the hostel and many young locals come in the night for the cool atmosphere and good drinks. The hostel rooms are on the 3rd floor so it is not too loud in the rooms while there are noisy music on the ground floor. The burgers and the Meze plates are really delicious. Fatih is a great host, we felt like at home, had all the flexibility of playing wii, prepare breakfast or make our own drinks in the kitchen and relax in the living room. We were there in the spring, but this place would be great even during the ski season."
