"What a pub should be. Small, intimate and full of locals. Attentive service staff, always smiling and warm. When it's full it can get loud, but so what. Pouring rain and a full pub. That's what you're looking for!"

"The clam chowder is so good that after our lunch of the chowder and the delicious halibut fish and chips (oh my gosh the chips, aka fabulous fries, are also a great reason to go back) we added a quart of chowder to go! The staff is so wonderfully friendly! A must stop when visiting the area!"

"First time trying this place and it was great. Staff was friendly. Food was good. The drinks were good. The place has a great atmosphere. Great decor. Has a family section and a bar area. The restroom was very clean and wheelchair accessible. They also have a family restroom which is great for people with kids. Ample parking. Located right on the main street into Long Beach. We went on a busy Saturday and they warned us they were a little short staffed, but they did great. Will definitely eat here again next time I'm in Long Beach!"

"Wow! First, the food was excellent. We started with beet salad. My wife and friend had razor clams, another friend had sturgeon. I'm vegetarian, I found the mushroom ravioli to be delicious. For dessert, we split a tiramisu and homemade ice cream. Our server Juan did a great job. Prices were reasonable. It was so good we were back the next morning for breakfast. My wife had Willapa Bay oysters, which she reported were fresh and delicious. We also split and order of New Orleans beignets.I had the blueberry waffles with blueberry syrup, it was wonderful. We highly recommend the 42nd Street Cafe if you're on the Long Beach Peninsula."

"One of the most spectacular and magnificent meals I’ve ever eaten; and, that is not said lightly. The staff are wonderful, personable and add to the atmosphere of this quirky and tiny gem. You need reservations or you won’t get in. But when you do you will want to thank me. I’d probably make the drive from an hour and a half a way monthly if I lived that close. It was that good."
