"We ended up at the tavern as we were not able to get a table at any of the nearby restaurants. A classic pub, with decent pub meals at a reasonable price compared to the surrounding restaurants. The lady behind the bar was lovely with our kids and brought out some colouring in activities for them."

"Ignore the reviews of this place that say it's mediocre. The curries were cooked from scratch and amazing. We'd done the Tongariro crossing that day and headed straight there. The food totally hit the spot. I make a lot of curry at home and am really fussy, and this place totally got my vote. Would definitely go back! 9½/10 (lost half a point because we couldn't eat in) ."

"I wish I had taken a photo of my yummy yummy pizza! It was the best vegan pizza I've been able to get in a very long time!! Great service. Well mannered staff. As a vegan, it is always a worry, finding someone that provides vegan friendly food. I was so surprised when I picked my pizza up. It was beautiful to look at, and so enjoyable to eat. Top notch LA Pizzaria!! Top notch!! So popular, that you had to close shop early at the Ohakune Blues and Roots Festival. Yet you all remained professional and friendly to the end. Thank you"
