"Best place for the ice cream around the Donner lake. I like their shot of espresso over vanilla ice-cream and caramel with salt. The best thing is mini size. With my age I can’t have big icecream cups with this size I can try more verities. They have so many to try. All are great."

"Not the restaurant’s fault that it was too smoky to dine outside, however I didn’t appreciate the sticky high top table provided right next to the entrance, nor the fact that we were ignored by the waitstaff for about half an hour after being seated. We were kindly allowed to move inside to the more formal dining area when requested. Tomato soup en croute was delicious as were the scallops and burger. Sadly the most expensive dish, Alaskan halibut was overcooked and dry, veggies would have been good if not over salted. If not for the disappointing halibut, the food would have earned or stars instead of For the price charged, halibut should have been excellent. Waitress offered no recourse when told it was overdone. Would be nice if the wine list had more reasonably priced selections, starting at about is a little steep. The French Chardonnay was very good as it better be for over I’ll think twice before making another journey to Truckee from Zephyr Cove for a dinner out at Moody’s"

"The taste of the food was between ok and good, nothing special. I had higher expectations after seeing reviews. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage. I guess pasta, sauce and sausage are homemade, but I was disappointed when the dish arrived with 3 small bites of sausage. I ordered a cocktail that arrived weak and mostly with ice in the shape of a juice glass. When the waitress noticed that I drank it in a few sips, I asked for another one, but without ice. What I got was an 8 ounce glass of milk with a dash of Kahlua in it. No way to impress. I just wanted a good drink."

"I've been to the West Coast Market before. I usually go there to get a sandwich. Today I stopped with my wife and we got the turkey club. So much is amazing! The staff there was very friendly on the way out we made sure to take a cookie to go with their sandwich. But I really like in this place it is also a clean toilet. It's a great place to stop. It is located directly on the highway 89. It is also super simple parking."
