Turkish tee was excellent and for the desert I tried kadayif and it tasted delicious. the sitting corner is very clean and the tables are well visited. [Update]: I went there for lunch today August 12th 2021 and was disappointed to find the menu prices have gone up. I don't know if I'll go back again because of their high prices. Here is my review from my previous two visits. The food court is a clean restaurant with good service. They feature Chinese food and Greek food but I only go there for the Greek food. The baklava is delicious and the gyro salad is very good... View all feedback.
So my 20 year old is staying in Nebraska for courses this summer and has been raving about this place since he arrived a month ago. He loves the Adana Kebap and I had the chicken shish kebap. It did not disappoint! Excellent food and great service!
The place says Gyros and Chinese on the front. It says Istanbul too but I never noticed until tonight. I drive by this place a few times a month. I 'm usually with a couple of naysayers that aren 't into trying new places. Tonight I was by myself and decided to stop. I am so glad I did. Food is a 4. The amazing Turkish men that were running the place totally elevate it to a 5. I ordered the lamb shish kepap with rice and salad. I know it was made fresh because you can watch the cooking line. The rice was amazing! The lamb was cooked a little more well than I usually like it but it was very well seasoned and flavorful. The side salad was stepped up from the ones you get at most green take outs While I waited I got to watch several orders come out. The schwarma will be my next order! The baklava looked amazing. The menu board only shows a big one which was huge! They have much more normal size one too. I keep kicking myself for not grabbing one. Side note: A lovely man named Jerry was behind me in line. We had a nice conversation while we waited. He said he comes once a week for the chicken fried rice. We had the same opinion on a couple of other places near by so I 'd have to take his recommendation on that too.
Istanbul Food Court is located in a building of its own off 42nd street. It has a very unique menu combination of Turkish/Mediterranean AND Chinese food dishes. The place looks very average at first glance. There is ample space inside for sitting. The menu is huge and has combo meals and separate dishes. It also serves Turkish coffee and Turkish Tea. The food, though is amazing. Do not be fooled by the fact it is served on disposable dishware and plastic utensils. Their fries are crisp and savory and their portions are plentiful. The meat is very tender and well seasoned. Their coffee is smooth and hits the right spot. It is not a high-end place but it more than exceeds any other Mediterranean restaurants in terms of flavor. Presentation is lacking? Who cares, this food is awesome.
Great authentic food, baklava was fresh and superb, all the shis kabob was fresh at affordable price, freshly brewed Turkish tea was compliment to my lunch, yogurt-drink was home made and fresh
The food was good. It's three restaurants in one. Chinese, Gyros and hamburgers.
