"Le Landemer is in a remote location, has a small client base, and is incredibly well-priced (room and meal). I BEG to differ with the last review that claims the restaurant "missus the spot." The place has all of dozen tables or so and with the cost of the meal (roughly $50 per person without wine for five-six courses) it's extremely reasonable. The wine list is also a bargain. It goes without saying, the ambiance and view are pretty much faultless. When everyone else in the room is speaking French and Billie Holliday wafts through the air, how could the evening be anything but perfect? The room is bright, airy, and the linens crisp and white. The staff is helpful, courteous, and fun. The meal started off with perfectly crisp, tangy parmesan bread sticks. These were followed by a refreshing, cool, cucumber potage. The bread was fresh and with a crisp/chewy crust. The salad was a colorful melange of beets, garden greens, salmon, and a light, fluffy wasabi dressing on the side. Then came a tasty course of chopped, stacked fish with fennel and other herbs. For the main, I had had curried fish brochettes with mashed potatoes and root vegetables. My wife had a beef chop with an assortment of spicy, baked vegetables. Next, we enjoyed a soft cheese baked in puff pastry with greens and sultanas. Last came fritters with homemade glace and a berry sauce. Perhaps this wasn't Michelin Three Star dining (and I've been to quite a few around the world), but the food was well prepared, tasty, and very modestly priced. This meal did not "missus the spot" but someone else dining no doubt did."
