"I thought I had a bad experience and posted a bad review. The chef then texted me privately. It seems like I totally misunderstood my experience, things were perfect and he actually is a nice guy who treated his customer really well. Excellent example how to do service recovery. This is the chef/manager for tougen. I'm just curious, why do you have to lie in your review. Are you afraid that the truth will make you look bad? So you have to lie to make me look bad? At what point did i tell you to leave?At what point did my server apologize to you profusely? My server is not embarrassed that he works here. And of course, you also forgot to mention that i did issue you the refund that you were demanding. And why didn't you bother to mention that my server offered to deliver the missing food to you to make up for a simple mistake. And believe it or not, i didn't even know you were yelling at me in the first place that's why you thought i was ignoring you.And my answer to you that day, regarding don't i think it should be free, for me. When i go out and eat. I will see what the situation is. I normally won't go in demanding for free food for just some simple mistakes especially since they offered to fix the problem. It's a shame that people try to extort other people in situations like this."

"Visiting the area and heard about this place. Service was good, food was not. Had the Jager schnitzel, smashed red potatoes, and Cole slaw. With the exception of the actual schnitzel, everything was luke warm. The gravy was cold and extremely thin...very runny. If you're looking for good German food, go elsewhere."

"First time here, excellent customer service. Enough to help eliminate a long waiting period. Meatballs among one of the best we ever had, meatballs delicious and damp, bread was beautiful and crispy. I had the firefighter couple, so much meat on sandwich was excellent. Will definitely return, wish there was one in Port Clinton or Sandusky"
