"Happened on this restaurant by chance. It's modern/upscale rustic ambience is very appealing . Service was smooth and attentive (thanks Saad). And then there is the food which I would rate as outstanding. I had the mushroom soup, a crab pancake and the charcuterie plate - three faultless appetizers. My companions were equally pleased. Highly recommended."

"One of my places, pampering the classic diner food that is only heavenly. they are also one of the only places where I found that monte cristo makes sandwiches. In portion sizes are generous, cannot with the price that gives the quality. they are sometimes very busy because they are a well-known jewel, so when they go in prime it is time that you might have to wait a bit, but they are worth a waiting period."

"Another wonderful family dinner! Our party of 4 were seated in a smaller section off the main dinning room. Although there was a group of 8 near us, we enjoyed some nice privacy. All our meals were wonderful tasting and presented beautifully. We were there just over 75 minutes and we even had dessert."

"The best place in town.. Although there is another Sushi place in Georgetown now. This is the place to go if you want good food. I go to both. But if I want good sushi, I go here every time. They have always been good. I have been going there since it opened. I hope they will keep there business with the new place in town. It is very good I think because the size of the fish you get in ever order is a lot and in ratio with the rice it is perfect. You taste the difference when you go here. The all you can eat is like store bought sushi a little. Please keep going here. I've been to many sushi places in the area and downtown Toronto and the quality of the food here is top notch."

"I don't usually write reviews, however felt the need to write this due to how unimpressed I was with the whole experience at this restaurant. The restaurant looks like a dive from the outside, very unkept and looks like it needs a lot of renovations, however we saw past that and were very optimistic about the interior, food and service. We were greeted by an older lady who was rough around the edges and again, we kept an open mind. The menu was scarce and doesn't offer a lot of variety, especially if you are a vegetarian or have certain diet restrictions. When we asked the server about what she would recommend, she just laughed and said everything was good! We order a couple of appetizers, the Brie and mussels to share. The brie was layered with syrup (tasted terrible) and the mussels had no sauce/flavor and were chewy to the point where I spat mine out on a napkin and we left the rest untouched. I ordered the gnocchi which tasted like raw flour and had no other taste to it. I almost gagged when I took a mouthful. My friend ordered the fish which was slimy in the middle absolutely gross. My husband and other friend both had the steak which again had no seasoning. Non of our food was seasoned, it's as if they don't know how to season food (not even a pinch of salt or pepper on any of the dishes), we all had to ask for additional seasoning. In the end, we ended up barely touching anything and left. The server never once asked us how the food was or even mentioned anything when she carried back all of the food that had tiny pieces cut out of them. I will never ever go back there again. Waste of time and money. If you like your food to taste good, don't go!!"

"Tanners is such a great place for dinner and lunch. we are often here and are always happy to eat and service. the place is clean and picturesque and they feel welcome and appreciate as soon as they are in the door to foot. a true Jewel of a place."
