Had a really hearty meal here with friends, beside a roaring fire, just before Christmas. So very cosy! Fantastic friendly staff. We had big platters of delicious Norweigan fare (with the ubiquitous lingenberries, of course! . A great evening and would love to go back one day. View all feedback.

Kafe Asylet is an institution in Oslo found in one of the really old buildings in Oslo/Groenland. They offer a menu mainly of different burgers and an average range of beer. Staff is service minded and athmosphere is intimate but the place is very noisy. Ok for an informal gathering with friends. Not a place for business meetings or anniversaries. "The best restaurant in oslo. period. they had a star in the Michael leadership for years. Once they were here, they will understand. our group of six people was best treated by the entire staff, including the owners cook themselves. even those to train are super-professional. I recommend that you go to the tasting menu with the wine pairing. on the day we visited, this menu consisted of only one dish of meat. the rest was seafood. I was on other places where it was to be seen. if they live for great food and wine experiences, I cannot recommend this place enough. it is expensive, but compared to the three star restaurant not far away, I think that is a better offer anyway enjoys!"
