I must admit that this is not the most upscale restaurant I've been to, but the food is excellent. The specials offer great value for the price. I was pleasantly surprised to see a unique concept of a grocery store combined with a sit-down restaurant. Well executed. The grocery store carries items that are difficult to find in Toronto. What Mike Dociu doesn't like about Hong Kong Express:
Had the sesame crispy beef. It was very dry and hard to chew . I did order soon before closing time thru Uber but opening hours should be respected . Especially when the cost is the same no matter the time or freshness . I won’t go back unless they offer to redeem . View all feedback.

I have ordered from this restaurant multiple times, but this will be my final order. My biggest problem is with the sweet and sour chicken balls, which are practically inedible. I suspect they were reheated and deep fried a second time. This has happened multiple times. Additionally, the chow mein is excessively oily, with soybean oil dripping off when you eat it. The fried rice is good, as well as the sweet and sour chicken (with peppers, onions, etc.).
This restaurant is quite good, especially considering the price. The decor is also nice, but nothing extraordinary.

My mom and I came in to order 2 lunch time rice dishes and ordered a drink and tapioca dessert and the whole experience is terrible. Customer service was unwelcoming and very unhappy responses. The tapioca dessert said with coconut milk and when it came it tasted pure evaporated milk and no coconut milk in it as it is just yellow in color. I asked the waitress she said that's how I make it. Thankfully I didn't have any dairy allergy. Another server then came to ask if we needed to order half hour later. Me and my mom worried if our order was even rung in so I had asked and she said yes. Waited 45mins and 2 customers came in ordered beside us. We had no idea but they got their food so we asked how come they got their food. The server said because we ordered a slush and dessert(separate from the kitchen) it takes longer. How does that make any sense. So you are staying if the drink and dessert(usually come after meal) that we wouldn't get our food? Do not recommend here period. Terrible terrible experience.
