Have never had anything close to a bad/mediocre experience at Mati! Appetizers are creative and come in surprisingly large portions, steaks are grilled to perfection (and come with fantastic potatoes), and the seafood tower is on another level compared to others I've tried. The place looks sharp and that builds an expectation about the service and the food. There were four of us and none of us got the point of our eggs right, even though the server checked with us twice when ordering. Personally, I ordered the Steak and Egg, but I’d say 1/3 of the steak was sheer fat, that I didn’t even eat. Not a bad place at all, just don’t think the prices correlate with the food.
