"Although I don't eat animals anymore, I still enjoy volta. the hummus is good, all her suppen are good, and if I want to pamper the pita melt is brilliant with the tomatensuppet. To be honest, I wouldn't go here if they were vegan, unless they are super committed and happy to eat hummus and carrots that they could eat at home. everything has cheese or ziki sauce, and I am so glad that I have become vegetarian again because there are so many more options here."

"As we arrived, we were nicely greeted at the door. We had made reservations, which work really well. The waiter was attentive without being invasive. She even brought a big bowl of iced water for my service dog. As many times happens to me, I asked for mild food and it wasn’t as mild as I would have preferred. They were far more successful in making other accommodations, though. This restaurant pays attention to details and their food it outstanding. We ordered a black ribeye without pepper and pan seared scallops. Delicious!"

"Such a wonderful atmosphere. Christmas spirit… loved our meal. The shrimp crisp appetizer was so good. We shared the Das Boot entree. It was really tender and tasty. But the dessert… the toffy figgy pudding was THE BEST !"

"Ravine is an absolute gem in Oxford and Chef Joel Miller has created something very special. Last night was my family's second adventure at the restaurant and it was wonderful. The chef got us started with an amuse-bouche, a tasty croquette. We followed with the same appetizers as our previous visit--beef tenderloin mini-burgers on yeast rolls with red onion jam and bleu cheese, along with sautéed brussels sprouts with shallots, parmesan, and bacon. We could have made a meal on either of them. Really outstanding. The white bean and chorizo soup that followed was excellent. We all went our separate ways with our entrees and I chose the NY strip with grain mustard herb butter and accompanied by potato gratin. The extent to which steaks are prepared and grilled can be all over the map but this was perfectly done to my taste. I love French wines and we chose the Chateau Greysac and it was a real find for us all. This is only the second time I have been to Oxford in 40 years and southern hospitality was on full display. I struck up a conversation with the lovely lady whose art adorns the walls of Ravine and was very pleased to learn that she is Joel's mother. She was accompanied by her husband Jack Stubbs and local legends Pat and Patty Tatum. A great and enjoyable evening in every respect!"
