Solid sushi place. Great selection of rolls and specialty items. Loved the hamachi and unagi. Great spicy edamame and sake. Popcorn lobster was delicious and had a generous serving. Very attentive service. Polite waitstaff and prompt service. View all feedback.
What Susan Kroft doesn't like about Anaba Sushi:
I've been Anaba many times before and always had great service and food. But this time it was the total opposite. I was very disappointed in the service and the food. The older woman server was rude and tried to rush us in ordering our food. All the Sushi rolls we ordered tasted mushy and the fish did not taste fresh. Great sushi place! Good combination of high quality fish with an Americanized sushi menu (More sauces and special rolls). If you're looking for expensive, authentic Sushi, I'd recommend Sushi Hanada. If you want a mid-priced place that still has good quality, this one is my go-to.
Anaba sushi is down the street from my house. We enjoy their sushi special that comes with tuna, albacore, yellowtail and salmon. It comes with a soup, salad and rice. So far the sushi has been on point, although its difficult to find seating after 5 pm. The service is spot on.
This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants, the staff always welcomes you every time you enter, and the servers, are very respectful and friendly. The sushi is well prepared and made freshly. I would recommend you try this place if you live in Oxnard or not from Ventura County.
Service and atmosphere are great. But I feel like the food quality on the day we went we're bad.
Anaba does not care if you enjoy your experience or not. They just kept bringing more saki to the loudest drunk people I have ever sat near in a restaurant. The host told me this woman had caused the exact same problems as recently as last week but they let her in and get her drunk again anyway. So they KNOW about the problem and choose not to care! After 20 years of going to this restaurant it has showed steady decline and I guess this will be my last time there. If you’re going to spent $200-$300 for a nice meal go somewhere that cares.
