We stopped by for an evening meal on Thursday, downstairs was very busy with what seemed to be a fun quiz night but we wanted to eat so we sat in the upstairs bar which was fairly quiet and exactly what we wanted. We order food at the bar, 2 Caesar salads with Chicken asked for the croutons and sauce to be on the side which was fine, plus a fish and chips. All were well prepared, cooked nicely and tasted good. After reading the positive reviews about the village inn, we were very pleased with the “friendly welcome” and a few drinks with our Sunday dinner. Unfortunately, the greeting, however, after coming in from the rain to enjoy all the above, was unfriendly...and it was lacking basic customer service. we left. View all feedback.
This place was recently redone (not sure what it was before but I've been told it wasn't very nice) and it's a great little pub right off of Oxford in

Beautiful Paddington pub with plenty of character. Excellent condition, well styled furnished. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Limited menu running...

The restaurant also serves you at the counter and serves you meals and drinks, and there is a dining room with chairs/tables. Babiesandtoddlers can sit in high chairs (please inquire), Depending on the weather, you can also sit outside and be served.
