"I agree with Patricia below. The thesis must be succinct, to the point, and you cannot add frilly and unnecessary words and still get to the point. Your topic sentence in that first paragraph MUST be your thesis. Then 3–4 sentences (no more than 7 or 8 words each) to support that topic.
