Gladstone Inn - Paraparaumu

A great country pub that has recently changed hands friendly with the new owners and the service excellently. It was founded in 1870 as a ferry station that allows access from the eastern farm via the river to Wairarapa. Many dining rooms in the indoor area and a large outdoor garden sitting on the edge of the river for beautiful days. Saturdays are popular with visitors and you will likely see a lot of classic cars and motorcycles, Sunday afternoon see many families coming, and Wednesday evenings are local night. The winter menu has just begun and has some great options for the colder days and nights. The food is honest and delicious if you like pizza, there is a set as well as a children's menu. Dogs are usually welcome in the garden area and in summer you can watch the local jet boats on the river. It will be busy and waiting times can be long, but it is worth while you relax with a drink.

A great place to eat and drink near me for a nice meal! Perfect for any occasion would recommend everyone nearby to have a wonderful experience and just a short ride I never had a bad time in the Gladstone Inn Pizza are amazing and they create refreshing drinks in a minute! 5 stars would go there for every occasion.

What a jewel. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was exceptional. Recommend this from the historic inn. atmosphere wonderful.

Great. Great hospitality, great food, great landscape and great mousses. We had chicken chips, fish and chips and a Brownie Sunday. Everyone was perfect. They were very friendly to our Greyhound we brought, and several cartridges came to our table to house the dog. What an excellent way to spend the afternoon after a short walk around the Carter Scenic Reserve.

Went here with a group and we ordered pizzas! There is a great range of pizzas to choose from including Pear and Walnut, pulled pork, Hawaii, cheese and more. With a thin base and the crunchy edge they were delicious! Loads of cheese too. We also ordered the fries which were beautifully cooked crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The large green space was great for the kids to run around on! And being on the large verandah meant we had the fresh air with the protection of the verandah. The staff were super helpful. Even going above and beyond when one child with sensory issues felt her sandals were too dirty and helped mum clean them. It is dog friendly environment, but you must be seated outside. Facilities are clean and tidy.
