A good friend took me here for dinner. Wow, what a wonderful experience. This brasserie dates back to 1867 and everything about is showcases magnificent French food and culture. The building is extraordinary. My only regret is that we did not walk around the interior of the building more. Service was great. Food was delicious. We were recommended to this restaurant by the concierge at our hotel. On a previous evening we had picked our own restaurant La Pepiniere which was much less pretentious. We were six people and three ordered the entrecote (steak). It was almost inedible gristly for my wife. Mine was tough but reasonably tasty and my granddaughter is basically uncritical.
