We found this restaurant in a blog I get online. It happened to be a few blocks from our hotel. Before any food was selected, the owner engaged us in English and impressed me because he knew a Toronto chef I happen to like, Jamie Kennedy. Had it not been for a new addition to his family he might have opened his restaurant in my 'hood. We both settled on the lotte (monkfish) and dessert of yogurt ice cream and citrus.... What Godfrey Gleichner doesn't like about Restaurant Jean:
The food was indeed interesting during this lunch but while being there it would have been good to meet a waiter attentionate enough to show me a wine list... instead of imposing a glass of cow's urine from Pays du Gard... was it Chardonnay, as stated, or Semillon or Viognier no one would tell. I tried to warm it up a bit to no avail. Funny how sloppy staff can ruin a dining experience.Won't be back. View all feedback.
This restaurant is collocates to the Opera, nice outdoor seating area and indoor seating.
Really cool decor I loved the architecture and the history of this place.
