What Lee Edwards doesn't like about Hippopotamus:
simple chain restaurant that reminded me of a tgi Friday or applebees. beautiful variety on menu and a few combo as choose. not expensive, so if they are on a budget, this place is good. at my visit (republique) the service was fast and waiter. was very accommodating. "We tried this place due to the reviews and they are well deserved. the homemade pasta is exquisite. my man had the best gnocchi we had ever tasted. it is a house menu that changes, but on the day we went there were 5...very different pasta dishes and a bavette/frites for those who are not very pasta. with a few appetizers/tapas and a few gloomy. we are picky eater (me man hates half the food and I am currently pregnant as much as I can not eat) and we readily found options for our taste. it is a small hole in the wall, 25 seats, very friendly staff. mostly natives who are nice, he was surprised to get tourist, but was happy to see us. highly recommended, we are only sad that we have discovered it at the end of our journey!"
