So happy to find this little gem still open, we first visited this tea room 38 years ago on our honeymoon! We enjoyed fresh scones, jam and clotted cream with a pot of decaf tea for me and a decaf coffee for hubby and all reasonably priced. The wasps were a nuisance outside so we chose to eat in, it's a traditional house so quite small with limited space but very quaint. View all feedback.
What Robandhelen53 doesn't like about Ye Olde Worlde Cafe:
Nice location and pleasant garden for refreshments with friendly staff but the prices for the quality of food were nothing less than a complete rip off taking advantage of the captive audience visiting the nearby lily ponds and beaches. A ‘single’ poached egg on toast cost about £4.70 and consisted of a single not so runny poached egg on a buttered slice of toast with no garnish. A ‘double’ was 2 slices of toast and... A beautiful little cafe, with really welcoming staff. Cream tea was delightful, and real tea!!!!!! Will definately come again.
