Excellent venue with really individual and well thought out decor. Very good drinks selection. Have not eaten there but will update when I do. Edit: Have eaten there and can honestly say it's one of the best restraints in Wales. The food comes with a lot of ceremony and pomp, but it's most definitely well placed and worthy of the fuss. Worth travelling for, I highly recommend the smoked steak. View all feedback.
What Harvey Griffiths doesn't like about Etc Penarth:
Good service (tho not perfect) Decent food, Funny dish names that don 't add Smoke doesn 't really add to dishes... Good selection of cocktails. For starters: Aubergine which needed more salt was a little bland, Salmon three ways: one poached salmon a weird sausage salmon and a cured one. Mains: chicken very good, including potatoes and rest of the dish. Sirloin steak with fries good. Though the whisky smoke doesn 't... View all feedback.
Second time for Sunday dinner and enjoyed it both times thoroughly. Pig meat and beef cooked to the veg roast potatoes and gravy really delicious. If you want a dessert a little different and fun etc is the place to be. Staff are friendly and helpful and do a loan etc.
One of the top places in Cardiff and in the penarth district for fine dining and Motown vibes (especially on the Thursdays). The Manger Konsa was a delightful host with knowledge of the dishes and cocktails as well. If you’re looking to treat your loved one to a meal of high quality be sure to check out ETC ....Highly Recommended

Though the whisky smoke doesn 't add anything, tbh (see photo) Dessert: Black trickle Brule a bit heavy for a Brule. But tasty. Chocolate three ways (Lock choc and smoking mousse) which had a little dry brownie but rest of dish was tasty
Second time for Sunday dinner and enjoyed it both thoroughly. pork and bark cooked to the veg bratkartoffeln and gravy really delicious. if they want a dessert a little different and fun etc is the place to be. the employees are friendly and helpful and do a credit etc.
Stunning interior very classy love the lights and plants and black and gold The staff are really lovely and down to earth Everything was on time no delays Very well presented food Crazy cocktails too Made a fuss for my birthday too I had a sparkler. The Eton mess was insane I loved it I want to go again just for the desert The food itself is quite basic. It's presented really well and tastes lovely but what it is for the price is basic.. I had a cauliflower steak. Half way through it felt repetitive like I could have had half of that amount and salad with it instead or something extra perhaps cooked tomatoes or something else to break up the same taste I got bored of it half way through. Still it tasted really nice. It is over priced yes but it's still different to your chain restaurants
