Upstairs at Hollick has fine dining pretensions Regrettably, it's a long way short of that mark The restaurant space is pleasant with a nice view.

"We eat out frequently but it is seldom special, Pipers is special. The food is rich, flavoursome, very fresh and well thought out. We had three courses and each was spot on. The service was also excellent, attentive and friendly. A regional gem. Penola is a great place to spend a few days and if you can get into Pipers is a must for a great meal."

"Based on the reviews, I have selected this place to stop by for a winery lunch while staying in Mt Gambier for the easter long weekend There were eight of us in a group, and I was quite disappointed by the quality of the food. I initially booked for 12.30pm but got a call to say they only have two seatings We arrived slightly early (10 minutes), and spent our time doing some wine tasting because the tables were not ready yet to be seated. There was a big crowd but the two ladies who were serving wine tasters were in such good spirits it's great When we got into the restaurant after a round of tasting, the waitresses didn't have enough menu to give out and were too busy to get our...read more"

"A book for dinner in this great pub. they offered 2 seats we went with the election of 7.30. very busy and attentive employees who had to endure this evening pretentious mosquitoes and people who just came in and sat on already booked tables! eating was fantastic, barramundi and the beer scattered flathead. thanks to sophia and luke and the rest of the staff for their patient and professionalism."

At Drink Ottelia Eat Fodder, scrumptious dishes from all over the world are directly made for you, there are also delectable vegetarian recipes on the menu. If you decide to come for breakfast, you are offered a hearty brunch, In addition, the current games or races can be watched on the big screen in this sports bar, which the customers also love.

"Unfortunately it was not one of the better ones that he has had, though the steak, bacon pie met my expectations, and though the shop was very busy the wait was minimal! I must admit the Vanilla Slices and other cakes looked very tempting!"

"What a lovely place for tapas. A beautifully decorated dining area. High long table; lounge chairs near a fireplace; regular dining tables; plenty of space; relaxed atmosphere. Wonderfully prepared food. We shared five plates between two and that was more than enough. Sole waiter was attentive, talkative and did not seem under pressure waiting on the twenty or so diners while we were there. A very enjoyable, reasonably priced meal. Definitely would return when in Penola."

"Wonderful tasting with Madison! Loved the atmosphere and the wines were delicious! Travelling in a small motor home made it difficult to buy a case but we will definitely be ordering online for a delivery back to Queensland soon! Great spot"

"We loved our stop at DiVine Cafe.We had the local produce platter and some scones with a coffee as a light lunch. My only complaint is I forgot to ask where the olives and almonds were from. What on earth was I thinking? Best of both I have ever had not a word of a lie. Scones more dense than light and fluffy but enjoyable all the same and I don't mind them like that though the more fussy may be disappointed. Thanks guys :)"
