On the basis of Trip advisor reviews we decided to pay a visit and we were so pleased we did. The food was simply outstanding the dishes were freshly cooked to order and there were a wide range of Asian menu choices. What Garrick Wiegand doesn't like about The Mint Asian Cafe:
The Mint is a canteen style Asian cafe on Hay next to Perth Mint on the corner of Hill Street. On a rainy day I was given a lovely welcome and I perused the menu for something warming. Tempted by pretty much all of the options – laksa, fried rice, gyoza, salt and pepper prawn etc. I eventually settled for a fried chicken kway teow. View all feedback.
Friendly staff. Well served portions, good taste and fair price $15 per dish). Several options in the menu including chicken, pork, vegetables, eggs, cups or rice as base. I usually go for lunch, they have tables inside so you can enjoy your meal.
General serving and authentic aroma. The price is very reasonable. The fried Mee Hoon has the batch smell when served on the table, he reminds me to eat Hawker's food in Asia. We went there on a Friday night and surprisingly there were many parking spaces on Hill St. Go back to try more dishes.
Decided to give this place an attempt to my break. What a good choice I made! Excellent food and good price. Will definitely come back regularly and I also told my colleagues! Thanks guys for the great service.
Do not go by the outside look its the food you come for. Good service and lovely people. Not the usual suspects on the menu but very tasty and well worth it. We did takeaway and had our own wine in the Hotel Westin. Ask the owner for ideas.
Can’t find a better place nearby. Tried all the dishes already, and I love all of them. Food is authentic, and can’t be better. Nice service, and perfect for takeaways.
