We loved Hank?s. We visited it on New Years Day when quite a few restaurants in Downtown Petaluma were closed, and were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant serving the community. Everything was stellar?the warm customer service, the dishes that we ordered(Atlantic Salmon and a clam based dish both hit the spot), the wine and lemonade were great, and the welcoming vibe inside. They?ve an extensive lunch menu that... View all feedback.
What Hans Goertz doesn't like about Hank's:
Extremely disappointed overall, driven by the unpalatable pizzas. The pasta and breaded eggplant rollatini were good but the pizzas… In fact, what made the pizzas bad were: 1) the dough…they seemed more like flatbread than pizza as there was no distinguishable impact of yeast having been used to rise the dough 2) the cheese. Last year I had the best pizza of my life a few times at a restaurant in Spain owned by a family from northern Italy.I haven’t had pizza in the US since then as I worried nothing would compare. A friend of mine recently recommended Hank’s for pizza so we decided to check it out. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the pizzas were. The toppings they use are definitely high quality ingredients the meats, cheese seasonings were top of the line.We tried the Meat pizza the Koburrata pizza. Both were great, but if you prefer “savory only” toppings, I suggest you stick with the meat pizza. I don’t usually like sweet flavors on my savory pizzas but the Calabrian chili honey was an interesting element. We are definitely going back want to try some of the entrees.
Excellent restaurant in the Theater District. Mostly Italian style menu and wines. Meatball sandwich is great. Service is very professional and welcoming.
Casual Italian spot that shines with affection and affordable choices. Pizza, pasta and salads are solid. Agreeable wine list.
Great place to eat, food is excellent. Saturday nights seems to be pretty busy.Parking: Get there early because parking is not great but you can get a spot before the dinner rush.
