Joes Steak Shop - Phillipsburg

I've been here for over 30 years. I'm usually very happy with my meal. But I guess they had a bad day today. The pack of my wife was bland and had immature tomatoes on it. My cheese steak was also dirty and the bread was not fresh at all. It was 2 days old. But the staff was great. They are always in good spirits and kind. I'm not going to give them up even though I'm back. As a rule, cheese steak and chicken packs are on the spot. And their fries are crispy and tasty. Definitely a good stop when you're in the area.

So I'm a first time visitor to Joe's Famous Strak Shop. I must say I love the car shows and the old fashioned style of the shop itself. So I order the chicken steak wrap and chili cheese fries. I must say that I definitely needed more chicken for that wrap. They were not skimpy on the lettuce or tomatoes but there was barely any chicken, to call it a chicken cheese steak ?. The fries ? were fried perfectly! But the chili had gone bad ? ?! So I did not finish the fries. All in all I had an okay experience due to the food. The staff was awesome and the food was cooked and served quickly. Unfortunately the food that everyone has spoken of, was not the hype it may have once been. Thank you for the great service ladies.

This is a cool spot to grab food. Has that old school Jersey sandwich shop feel to it. The people working there were awesome. The cheesesteak and fries were great! We'll definitely be back.

I visited this place a few weeks ago, it was my first craving after a bad stomach virus. I was not disappointed. Service was fast and food was delicious. Portions are also generous! I like their outside eating area, it was quiet the day we went.
