What Malvina Thomin doesn't like about Jc Vegetarian:
It was ok, avarage food, but for this price you can eat in a way better place in town (possibly it was increased for me as the price was less than a half in the menu, it was very difficult to comunicate in english so I didn’t investigate and just paid). Good thing there is a wifi. View all feedback.
The menu does not differ between what is vegan and what is only vegetarian. And when the person who served me did not really speak English, I just ordered what I thought were a few “safe” vegan choices; roasted spinach and deep roasted tofu. The spinach was vegan, but the tofu was made with a dough very obviously with egg. Since that was the most part of the meal I ordered, it meant that I didn't have really much to eat. I take responsibility as I would have a better job to check what vegan was before ordering, so I didn't complain. I only ate my spinach and paid for the whole thing, making it a pretty expensive dish of spinach. From a vegan perspective, this place could be made so much better by only marking in the menu, the elements are vegan and not. As it is, it is just pot-luck, so it is really not a very vegan-friendly place.
Lots of options! We tried the green beans (absolutely amazing , the spicy tofu (also good , and the sweet and sour ‘pork’ (so so tasty!! . Nice service and good food, only con is a little expensive for Cambodia.
Friendly management and staff. Comfortable restaurant. Good tasting food at reasonable prices. I wish the vegan options were clearly labelled vegan.
Best vegetarian/vegan restaurant I've been in Phnom Penh. Huge menu with mock meat, tofu and mushroom options. They make sure if you want food with egg or not. The sweet and sour fish was absolutely delicious! It is run by a Chinese family and the restaurant is big with nice and cozy decoration. They accept credit cards (but with a 3% extra fee).
I ordered the stir fried oyster mushrooms which were delicious! I really liked the option for a small or large meal, as most Cambodian portions are too small for me. Highly recommend
