we ate in 2 Peruvian restaurants during in phoenix. el chullo was the more authentic of the two. it can be the best Peruvian food we had outside our own kitchen. tamales were packaged in banana leaves in genuine Peruvian fashion. the Huancaina sauce was noticeable. good service. good food. when they go, they visit the Peruvian market next door, where they sell authentic Peruvian ingredients. It is much overpriced for what they offer. I would be embarrassed to serve the bread they serve and charge 25 dollars for a bowl of soup, which is less than 10 small shrimps .. I tried the soup and the heart as an appetizer. I was not impressed. It was bad and I won? not back to pay such prices in a place like this. read more.
