"Nestor and his wife will host you in their restaurant and serve you a simple menu of the day with few alternatives which are cooked very carefully and very well presented. We had fish, chicken and alpaca, all of good quality. The welcome we had from the couple was particularly warm."

"I doubt anyone comes to Cabanaconde more than once so it's difficult to know what the benchmark is. This place was pretty reasonable hot water (you sometimes have to ask them to turn it on), the cooking is pretty good (although you need to reassure them that medio or poco hecho is what you're after the Peruvians have a tendency to like their meat carbonised), the beds are good, it's quiet. On the negative side, the Wifi is diabolical and phones are pretty much useless out here. The staff are nice but do yourself a favour and spread a few soles between them I don't think they see much in the way of tips and it really made a difference. I'd be surprised if there was anything much better than this in Cabanaconde. Try to get to dinner before the tour parties (when they are here) who eat at 19:00 it gets pretty hectic and noisy thereafter."

"People insist not to help you, you need to eat. Then if you finally get something, it is literally 3 pieces carrot and super dry meat for 35SOL. The Hamburger was also disgusting."
